Automatic Tool Changer for Rapid Prototyping
Designed to work with their MDX-650 Subtractive Rapid Prototyping (SRP) system, Roland DGA Corporation introduced their Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) to further reduce the amount of time and the cost of product development. From roughing to finishing, the MDX-650 can mill up to 200" per minute and produces a prototype that needs no hand finishing. With this system comes CAM software that allows production of prototypes directly from 3-D CAD models, making the need for professional CNC skills unnecessary. The MDX-650 has a work area of 25-9/16" x 17-11/16" x 6-1/16". Working in conjunction with the ATC, the MDX-650 can mill prototypes completely unattended. The ATC changes up to eight preset tools of different sizes, and comes with an air-activated, high-precision spindle. When combined with an optional rotary axis, which allows for the changing of four tools, one can mill the full surface of any object. The tools and path can be selected in the software and left to mill. Call (800) 542-2307 or visit www.rolanddga.com. (4/04)

Recycling and Waste Water Repurifier
Otec Precision Finish, Inc. introduces the WasteWizard — designed as a solution to recycling deburring and polishing fluids and waste water, while concentrating pollutants for disposal. It uses a patented polymer membrane (that never clogs) to filter out and collect soils that reduce the useful life of most fluids. The WasteWizard repurifies water for re-use up to 85 percent and concentrates waste by up to 99 percent. Cleaned water is made safe for disposal down the drain or can re-enter the manufacturing process. This creates savings in waste collection, water, and chemical costs. Another benefit is the recovery of precious metals from the waste water. It is designed to fit a standard 55-gallon drum. The MiniWizard is also available, which is used with a 16-gallon drum. Call (888) 511-6832, fax (978) 635-1478, e-mail sales@otecusa.com, or visit www.otecusa.com. (5/0
